T h omas B a ber - Pastor

A native of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Thomas holds a M.Div. degree from The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California. He joined the EBC staff as an associate pastor in 2006 and became the senior pastor in December, 2007. Thomas also holds a B.S. degree ('93) and an M.S. degree ('99) from Texas A&M University.

Thomas has been married to his wife, Nancy, for 14 years and the couple has six children. They live in College Station, Texas.

 

Darren Ely - College Pastor

John Darren Ely first became familiar with EBC as a college student, back in the early '90s. He served here at that time for a total of seven years, working with both the Pioneer kids' ministry and the college ministry.

Shortly after his graduation from Texas A&M University in 1996, Darren left EBC to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He did so full-time for a while, and then part-time while also serving on staff with the Navigators at Texas A&M University for three years. Darren resigned from the Navigators in 2000, finished seminary with a M. Div. degree in 2003, and returned to EBC in Jaunary 2004 to serve as our College Pastor.

Darren, his wife Gina, and their four children reside in Bryan, Texas

 

Clyde Wilton - Pastor Emeritus

Clyde was born in Germyn, Texas. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Bible with a minor in English from Howard Payne University. After marrying his wife, LaRue, he went on to complete a Masters in Systematic Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

While serving as an Air Force Chaplin in Japan, he established Misawa Baptist Church. Clyde retired from the Air Force and became the pastor of Skyline Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas for 5 years. In 1967, he came to Emmanuel Baptist Church and served as pastor for 40 years.

Clyde has 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He has written four books: "The Wilton Translation" - Greek to English New Testament, Essentials of the Greek New Testament, Clyde Wilton's Wit, and "Ruth from Moab" - Hebrew to English Translation. Clyde resides in Bryan, Texas
